Hearts That Survived
Mini Heart Collection by James Powell

"Hearts That Survived" is a series about resilience.

Each heart represents a different emotional journey, fractured, stitched, caged, abstract, explosive, restrained, reborn. Though small in size, these pieces carry weight. They reflect the quiet battles, loud emotions, and invisible scars that shape who we become.

I intentionally used heavy texture, splatter, palette knife work, and layered acrylic to give each heart physical presence. Some drip. Some are bound. Some are structured and geometric. Others are chaotic and raw. None are perfect, and that is the point. Survival is rarely clean.

This collection is about love that endured. About hearts that were tested, but did not disappear. About strength that remains even after impact.

These are not fragile hearts.
They are hearts that survived.
